Match Review

Round Two V ACT

The 13 goal win was well earned. The team played well both with and against the wind which provided abundant scoring opportunities at both ends with 41 inside 50 totaled for the match. A good solid performance was committed by all.

Shane McAuliffe continued on with his good form with plenty of solid runs through the centre of the ground. Laurie Donation again stood out as the dominating ruckman.

Daniel Simpson once again was solid in defence. Strong marks and delivery of footy were a strong aspect of aspect of his game. Michael Coombes also continued to dominate the centre of the ground and provided opportunity with accurate delivery to the forwards.

Kyle Emery, was in and out of the game off the half back line, his decision making provided forward entry opportunities. Nakia Cockatoo increased his intensity and dominated across the half back line. His ability to win the contested footy ensured numerous forward entries. His final quarter on the ball provided increased scoring opportunities.

Brandon Parfitt increased his efforts that he put in against Victoria and was able to dominate his opponents consistently all day. At stages he was the go to man across half forward and when on the ball won plenty of possession.

Zac Bailey once again showed up during the match and kicked two goals, once again declaring his future capabilities. Jack Munkara had a couple of opportunities to show that Tiwi magic in the forward line and is not far off from snaring a few himself.

Daly Shannon while on the wing mostly, played team footy that enabled us to increase scoring opportunities, his pressure to ensure the football remained in our forward line was excellent. Daniel Rioli gained confidence in his second game and provided support around the forward line that assisted in scoring opportunities.

Keidan Holt spent a few hours in hospital after the Vic game getting a finger x-ray as a precaution and was played as a forward pocket. His strong marking and contested ball enabled him to pick up 4 goals for the match, which could have been a larger tally only for a couple of slips in accuracy.

Jake Turner-Long was unable to play due to illness. His efforts to play against Victoria the previous day were massive. He watched the match from the sidelines before heading back to his billets to sleep and recover for Wednesdays match against SA.

The 15's put up a strong effort against VIC Country, who remain the undefeated favourites. Height and strength caused some issues when involved in contests but when given the chance to run and carry the football the NT were able to score on many occasions.
